The Matrix, the first phase of Concord’s CityPlace Toronto residential development, includes two residential towers over a three-story podium fronting onto a major downtown street. The project’s rear grade rises nearly five meters creating a private lower courtyard amenity area. The retaining structure is screened by a large rock wall feature that integrates planting and three waterfalls; creating a backdrop to the reflecting pool and outdoor terrace. A glazed linear lounge that links the two lobbies looks upon this area. A common exterior motor court provides vehicular drop-off that is shared with the next phase of the development. Concord is committed to the integration of public art, built form and landscape. Marlene Hilton-Moore is the artist who created the centrally located art installation.
