National Trade Centre

Toronto, Ontario

Located in downtown Toronto in the heart of the Canadian National Exhibition grounds, the National Trade Centre contains over 1 million square feet of exhibit space. The landscape design for the convention centre includes: two large urban plazas creating forecourts to the east and west entrances to the building; integration with two adjacent historical buildings, heritage gate structure, and existing vegetation; development of a tiered streetscape along the south building elevation that fronts onto the ceremonial Prince&8217;s Boulevard; and the design of custom light fixtures. The decorative paving, reflecting the historical shoreline of Lake Ontario, was the work of public artist Jerry Clapsaddle.
