A public art component was central to the project, both from the perspective of Minto Communities’ involvement and to the City of Toronto, as a terminus of Yorkville Avenue. Ferris + Associates worked extensively with Susan Schelle and Mark Gomes to facilitate their piece. Since its installment, not without controversy, the “couch” has become an iconic statement, illustrating the power and importance of good public art.
