The Matrix, the first phase of Concord’s CityPlace Toronto residential development, includes two residential towers over a three-story podium fronting onto a major downtown street. The project’s rear grade rises nearly five meters creating a private lower courtyard amenity area. The retaining structure is screened by a large rock wall feature that integrates planting and three waterfalls; creating a backdrop to the reflecting pool and outdoor terrace. A glazed linear lounge that links the two lobbies looks upon this area. A common exterior motor court provides vehicular drop-off that is shared with the next phase of the development. Concord is committed to the integration of public art, built form and landscape. The centrally located art installation was created by artist Marlene Hilton-Moore.
